The process usually starts with an informal photoshoot. The aim is to capture a series of photos that I can work from. It doesn’t take too long and can either be at my studio in Hampshire, or I can to travel to you.

I typically draw using sanguine chalk onto paper I’ve treated with a tint. Black chalk is also an option should that be preferable.

The size of each portrait framed measures 42cm x 49cm based on a 3” mount, as pictured below, and can be supplied framed or unframed. All of these things we can discuss at the outset of the commission.

“Emily’s drawings of our children have become some of our most treasured belongings. She is so clever and skilled at capturing not just the children’s likeness but also the essence of who they are. The portraits are full of life and twinkle. Emily’s natural warmth and fun puts the shyest of children at ease and makes the whole process a very happy one. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.”
